Indonesians Cut Their Hair Every Once in a Month. Is That Necessary?

People treat their hair in various ways. The most common way that almost everybody does is to cut it periodically or every once in a while.

A survey by Licorice involving 500 respondents —81.80 percent men and 17.20 percent women— has been conducted to see how often Indonesians cut their hair.

Survey Period: December 7th, 2019 – June 6th, 2020

Respondents: 500 Indonesians, aged 10-59 years old, men and women

The respondents who are mostly men tend to cut their hair every once in a month. The number is 36.4% (182 respondents). The smaller numbers of respondents choose to cut their hair every 2-6 months or even once in a year.

However, other small numbers of respondents cut their hair in a shorter period—every 2-3 weeks or even once in a week!

Does the majority of the respondents do the right thing by cutting their hair every once in a month?

How often do we need to get a haircut?

The answer depends on the hairstyle and also the goal. Some people may let their hair keep growing even until it touches their waists. Some others may be comfortable with medium-length hair. The rest may prefer short haircuts.

As mentioned before, 81.80% of the respondents are men. Even though we often find men with long hair, in Indonesia, men will most likely keep their hair short. In such a case, to get a haircut every once in a month is a good thing to do.

People with longer hair need different treatment. Those who possess medium-length hair until the long hair needs to cut their hair around four times a year, mostly to prevent split ends and to keep it tidy.
