Based on Licorice’s survey, about 52.6, fully aware of the beauty of the nails. Some 29 percent said they quite aware, followed by not aware of 13.6 percent. Only 4.8 percent not entirely aware.

Q: Do you wear nail polish? (SA)

Nevertheless, 32 percent never wear nail polish or making nail art. While 25.6 percent sometimes doing that. One of the reasons why they wearing it sometimes because some Indonesian people who are Muslim, only use nail polish when they are not menstruation. After that, they will remove the nail polish because praying while still using nail polish is not allowed. Only during menstruation, they do not pray.

Then, 24 percent always wear nail polish or making nail art. For women, seeing their nails colorful and combined with other decorative ornaments, making them feel happy and pretty. Also, Greta Angert, an anxiety disorder psychotherapist from Los Angeles, said that making nail art can overcome anxiety by improving one’s mood because it involves creativity in developing ideas from the combination of colors and unique image shapes.

Besides, nail art is also believed to be able to help stop nail-biting habits. When someone makes nail art, it will indirectly make them more respectful in every process of creation. So when someone wants to do the habit of nail-biting, it will make them think twice about ruining the beauty of their nails.

Q: How often do you go to the nail salon to have your nails done? (SA)

About 39 percent said never go the nail salon. Perhaps, it is because they make nail art by themselves at home. So they don’t need to go to the nail salon.

In the second place show the different results, about 16.4 percent, go to the nail salon more than once a week. At the salon, they are handled directly by trained and professional. This minimizes undesirable events, such as skin irritation, or choosing the wrong product. Besides, coming straight to the salon makes for a moment of rest from a stressful routine.

According to the survey above, 41.8 percent do a manicure in the nail salon. A typical manicure starts with your hands being soaked to soften the skin and cuticles, followed by a buff down to even out your nails, and then a file to ensure they are all the same shape and size. While 39.4 percent never go to the nail salon.

Q: What is your favorite nail art? (SA)

31.4 percent answered never to color their nails. In the second place, 24 percent choose glitter as their favorite nail art. This kind of nail art’s designs can give that extra edge to your nails and brighten up the move and send sparkles in dull moments.

Then, 21.2 percent choose a french nail as their favorite nail art. French nail is a popular manicure and pedicure style of choice when women want their toenails to look natural yet vibrant and polished, so their feet would look nice in open-toed shoes and sandals.

From the survey above, 37.6 percent choose pink as their favorite nail polish color. That color is most commonly associated with femininity.

Indonesians care about nail beauty. They like their nails to look clean and healthy. However, they can be said to only use nail polish or do nail art activities occasionally. For those who like to nail art, they can come to the nail salon more than once a week. At the salon, they do a manicure. For favorite nail art, most women choose french nails and glitter. While for the favorite nail polish color, pink is still chosen by many people.
